Wow, I’ve only seen Once Upon a Time in America on one occasion, four years ago when I was seventeen. It was certainly a uniquely sad experience, but very beautiful indeed. But the reason I am compelled to comment on this audio clip that was posted 8 years ago, is that it is one of the best film analysis/summaries I’ve ever experienced, and with no video! Certainly a masterclass. The montage at the end set to one of the greatest film scores was very powerful, a real tribute to the gangster film, so apt for the film in question. I eagerly await the next time I watch this movie. Thank you!
Hello Sam,
Thank you very much for taking the time to get in touch. And thank you also for the very generous compliments. And yes, the score is of such emotional volume that it all but rips your heart out.
Best wishes and in these Covid times, stay safe.
