Thank you for this great review, Steven. I thought Frears did a fine job in bringing Jim Thompson’s story to
the screen. I believe mention should also be given to the character of Bobo played with sinister charm by
veteran character actor Pat Hingle. His later scene where he threatens Huston’s Lily bristles with tension.
